There are already more than 15,000 Hasidic pilgrims in Uman: what is known about the tourist tax

As of the morning of September 9, more than 15,000 Hasidic pilgrims had been registered in Uman. Iryna Rybnytska, director of the “Uman Historical and Cultural Center” charitable foundation, told Suspilne about this.

According to Iryna Rybnytska, pilgrims pay a tourist tax upon arrival in Uman:
“For those not staying in hotels, the tourist tax in 2026 is 432.5 hryvnias, and for those staying in hotels, it is half that amount. However, there is only one official hotel in Uman.”
As a reminder, the Rosh Hashanah holiday will begin on the evening of September 11 and will last until the evening of September 13, 2026.
