The Cherkasy Regional Center for Public Health is working to ensure public health and safety during Rosh Hashanah in Uman

In the Cherkasy region, efforts are underway to ensure the public’s health and safety as preparations continue for the Rosh Hashanah celebrations in Uman.

Specialists from the Cherkasy Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine are implementing a set of necessary measures related to the mass Hasidic pilgrimage to the city. This was reported by the Cherkasy Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Preparations for the pilgrimage include organizing preventive measures, monitoring the public health situation, and coordinating efforts among the various services operating while large numbers of people are in Uman.

Recommendations from the Center’s specialists have been incorporated into the plans governing the city’s preparations for Rosh Hashanah in 2026. Specifically, this includes a plan of action approved by the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, as well as a plan to ensure the safety of event participants and the general public in Uman.

These measures are aimed at reducing public health and epidemiological risks and ensuring proper coordination and readiness among relevant agencies.

During Rosh Hashanah, tens of thousands of Hasidic pilgrims traditionally arrive in Uman. That is why issues of public health control, prevention, medical care, and coordination among responsible agencies are of particular importance.

The Cherkasy Regional Center for Public Health continues to work in collaboration with government authorities, healthcare workers, relevant services, and organizations involved in preparing for and conducting the pilgrimage.
