Ensuring Safety During Rosh Hashanah in Uman: Police Are on High Alert

Deputy Chief of the National Police of Ukraine Oleksandr Fatsievych, together with Cherkasy Regional Police Chief Yaroslav Mezhny, inspected the organization of law enforcement operations in Uman, where, during the celebration of the Jewish New Year — Rosh Hashanah — Hasidic pilgrims are staying.

This was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy Regional Police.

“The police continue to ensure public order and safety during the Hasidic pilgrimage. The main task is to maintain public order, as well as to prevent criminal and administrative offenses,” said Oleksandr Fatsievych.

A joint task force is operating in Uman, comprising operatives, investigators, patrol officers, representatives of the community liaison unit, the special police battalion, K-9 handlers, and bomb disposal experts.

As in previous years, representatives of the Israeli police have also arrived in Uman to assist their Ukrainian colleagues in maintaining law and order during the Rosh Hashanah celebrations.
