Tourist tax

On June 26, 2021, Uman City Council passed a decision No. 4-16/8 “On local taxes and fees”.
This decision finalized the tourist tax rates. This tax must be paid by citizens of Ukraine,
foreigners, as well as stateless persons who arrive in Uman and receive (consume) temporary
accommodation (overnight) services (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jKNQjx1nA1tjZAJjYsckDbZdlb9EsuXq).

According to this decision, foreign tourists (travelers, pilgrims) visiting Uman are required to
pay a tourist tax. The amount of tax is currently 400.00 UAH per person per day in 2025 if this
person is staying in a hotel-type buildings, residential buildings, annexes to residential buildings,
garden houses, apartments, cottages, rooms, any other facilities used for temporary residence
(overnight stay). 

The tourist tax must be paid before the arrival of tourists. 

In the case of temporary accommodation in hotels, camping sites, motels, hostels, holiday
homes, tourist bases and mountain shelters, camps, boarding houses, sanatoriums and other
hotel-type establishments the tourist tax UAH 200.00 per person per day in 2025. This tax is
collected by the provider of temporary accommodation, who must include it into a total cost of
stay.

The tourist tax is paid in advance. It is paid to specially designated tax agents. The tax agents
collect the payments in a manner that complies with all the city requirements.

Who is exempt from paying the tourist tax:

• children under the age of 18
• persons with disabilities, children with disabilities and persons accompanying persons
  with disabilities of the I group or children with disabilities (no more than one
  accompanying person);
• permanent residents of Uman (this includes those who are working in Uman under
  employment contracts)
• Ukrainian residents who arrive to Uman for a business trip or temporarily stay at
  places of residence, owned or rented by individuals.
• Family members of a person who owns or leases a place of residence in Uman.

How to pay the tourist tax?

• to the official account of the UKP “Komunalnik”, which was designated as a tax agent, via the link posted on the official website of the Uman City Council:

• through self-service terminals and POST terminals, which will be located on the street.
  Chelyuskintsiv in Uman.
  Please keep the tourist tax payment document until the end of your stay in Uman.

Verification of settlements will be carried out by authorized persons by reading the information
from the QR code contained on the settlement documents, with the help of programs installed on
mobile devices.
