In 2024, there are a number of features to pay attention to if you plan to visit Uman in September during the celebration of Rosh Hashanah.

First of all, currently, to get to Uman, you can only use ground transportation. For example, buses and cars. It can also be the railway, but keep in mind that you will still have to make a transfer, as the railway connection of Uman with other cities of Ukraine is limited.

Secondly, due to the war, air travel is not operating in Ukraine today, so at the state border at the checkpoints, there may be significant queues for both entering and exiting Ukraine. So plan your travel time with a buffer.

Thirdly, on certain sections of the highways, there may also be traffic jams for various reasons and as a result — delays in the movement of vehicles and buses. Be patient.

Fourth, due to the state of war, in every region of Ukraine, except for Transcarpathia, there is a curfew, and in all regions, it has a different duration. In Uman, the curfew lasts from 00:00 to 04:00. Also note that during the curfew, being outside is strictly prohibited, as is movement within the territory of Ukraine.
