The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine recommends that Hasidic pilgrims planning a trip to Uman for Rosh Hashanah contact the relevant Ukrainian authorities and agencies for additional information. This was reported by the MFA’s press service.
These include issues related to security, border crossings, customs clearance, rules for staying in Ukraine during martial law, medical care, shelters, and arrangements for their stay in Uman.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds the public that due to Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the country remains dangerous. Constant shelling of cities and communities, attacks on transportation infrastructure, acts of sabotage, and provocations pose risks to everyone currently in Ukraine.
For this reason, pilgrims are advised to obtain up-to-date information in advance and plan their trip with martial law in mind.
For clarification regarding pilgrimages to Uman, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises contacting the following agencies and services:
-
- the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine;
-
- The National Police of Ukraine;
-
- State Border Guard Service of Ukraine;
-
- State Customs Service of Ukraine;
-
- State Emergency Service of Ukraine;
-
- Cherkasy Regional State Administration;
-
- Uman City Council.
All pilgrims who, despite the warnings from Ukrainian authorities, plan to visit Uman should be aware that martial law is in effect in Ukraine. This includes a curfew, restrictions on movement, increased patrols, a ban on mass gatherings, and penalties for violating the established rules.
The Ukrainian side urges pilgrims to closely follow official announcements and to comply with safety requirements during their stay in Ukraine.
