Starting Monday, September 15, we are stepping up security measures in Uman. This was announced by Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration.
The procedures are essentially the same as in previous years during the pilgrimage of the Bratslav Hasidim. Special restrictions will be in place in the city regarding entry, exit, and the movement of citizens.
Vehicles are prohibited from entering:
■ from Highway M-30 into Uman, onto Derevyanka Street (the “Standard Budivelny” LLC facility);
■ from Highway M-30 to Uman, onto Gorikhova Street;
■ from the village of Rodnikovka to the city of Uman, onto Pavlova Street.
Vehicle traffic will be permitted on the following streets under enhanced checkpoint controls:
■ entry from Highway M-30 to Uman, onto Derevyanka Street;
■ entry from Highway M-05 to Uman, on Yednannia Street;
■ entry from the village of Horodetske (Palanska Territorial Community) to the city of Uman, at the intersection of Horodetska Street and Maksym Zaliznyak Street;
■ Entrance from Highway M-30 to Uman, onto Mykhailivska Street;
■ Entrance from Highway M-30 to Uman on Vokzalna Street;
■ the entrance from the village of Rodnikovka (Palanska Territorial Community) to the city of Uman, on Kyivska Street;
■ At the entrance from Highway M-05 (Kyiv–Odesa) to Uman, on Vyzvolyteliv Street—for Hasidic pilgrims only.
Additionally, within the pilgrimage area, it will be prohibited to carry, transport, or sell alcoholic beverages; to use or sell pyrotechnic devices; and to sell knives and other sharp or cutting objects, air guns, and toys that imitate them.
