Preparations are underway in Uman for the Rosh Hashanah celebrations, which will take place September 11–13 this year. About 40,000 Hasidim are expected to attend the celebrations.
Due to the massive pilgrimage, additional security measures will be implemented in the city, and traffic patterns will be temporarily adjusted.
The Executive Committee of the Uman City Council announced that, as always, significant efforts will be devoted to ensuring the safety of the pilgrims. These measures include:
four baggage scanners will be installed at the entrances to Uman;
traffic restrictions will be in place in the pilgrimage areas;
checkpoints will be set up in the city no later than September 7, 2026;
16 Israeli mediators and interpreters will be working in Uman;
pilgrims will enter Ukraine through 21 border crossing points, with the majority entering via the border with Romania.
