Michael Brodsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine, visited the Uman community.
On August 10, a meeting was held with the participation of Michael Brodsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine; Eliyahu Revivo, a member of the Knesset of the State of Israel; Oleksandr Shamray, Deputy Head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration; Iryna Pletnyova, Mayor of Uman; representatives of the Hasidic community; and heads of services, departments, and divisions of the Uman City Council.
During the meeting, preparations for the 2023 Rosh Hashanah celebration were discussed. The mayor of Uman informed those present of the city’s readiness to welcome the Bratslav Hasidim and outlined the tasks facing the community.
In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Ukraine noted that the celebration would take place amid the war and expressed gratitude for the assistance Ukraine is providing to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.
This year, the Jewish New Year will be celebrated from September 15 to September 17, 2023.
