Law enforcement officials met with Hasidic rabbis to discuss safety measures during the pilgrimage

News

Law enforcement officers provided information to pilgrims who arrived in Uman for the Rosh Hashanah celebrations regarding the restrictions and security measures associated with martial law.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region.

The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Head of the Department—Head of the Public Order Division Anatoliy Seredynskyi, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy Region Serhiy Kovalenko, Head of the Regional Police’s Preventive Activities Division Mykhailo Modlenko, and Hasidic rabbis.

With the aggressor country’s full-scale invasion, security requirements have become much stricter. Their main goal is to ensure comprehensive security within Uman during wartime.

“Among the key measures are thorough checks at checkpoints, compliance with the curfew, carrying identification documents while on city streets, a ban on the consumption of alcoholic beverages, and responding to ‘air raid’ alerts. “Following these simple rules will help pilgrims celebrate Rosh Hashanah safely and without incident,” emphasized Anatoliy Seredynskyi.

Representatives of the Jewish community expressed their gratitude to Ukrainian law enforcement for ensuring safety and assured them that they are prepared to comply with all specified requirements.
