The State Department advises U.S. citizens not to travel to Uman for the annual Rosh Hashanah pilgrimage due to Russia’s ongoing aggressive war against Ukraine. We would like to share the information below in case a traveling U.S. citizen encounters an emergency.

Passport Services at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv

If your passport is lost or stolen, you must visit the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv to replace it. Appointments for passport services are available in the mornings from Monday through Thursday.

Replacing a lost or stolen passport costs $165. Please email our office if you have any additional questions regarding your passport application.

Other Services

Due to limited staff and security restrictions, the U.S. Embassy does not provide any services to citizens in Uman, Ukraine.

Please make plans for unforeseen situations and emergencies that will not rely on assistance from the U.S. government. We recommend coordinating with your private insurance companies, local hospitals, and local authorities in the event
of hospitalization or evacuation.
