During the Hasidic pilgrimage to Uman for Rosh Hashanah, 16 mediators will assist Ukrainian law enforcement officials.
This was reported by the DESC press service following an interagency working meeting on preparations for the pilgrimage.
The mediators will facilitate communication and help maintain public order during the large-scale gathering of pilgrims in the city.
Other issues related to organizing the pilgrimage were also discussed during the meeting, including the operation of checkpoints, security, medical care, the readiness of shelters, accommodations and meals for pilgrims, as well as the mechanism for collecting the tourist tax.
This year, Rosh Hashanah celebrations will take place from September 11 to 13. Under martial law, organizing the pilgrimage requires careful preparation and coordination among all responsible agencies.
The State Service for Special Operations notes that the main task is to ensure that the pilgrimage takes place in an organized and safe manner, in compliance with all necessary requirements.
