There are a number of things to keep in mind if you\u2019re planning to visit Uman in September during the Rosh Hashanah celebrations.<\/p>\n
First of all, at this time, the only way to get to Uman is by ground transportation\u2014for example, by bus or car. You could also take the train, but keep in mind that you\u2019ll likely have to transfer anyway, as rail service between Uman and other Ukrainian cities is limited.<\/p>\n
Second, since air travel in Ukraine is currently suspended due to the war, there may be significant lines at border crossing points, both for entering and leaving the country. So be sure to plan your travel time with plenty of leeway.<\/p>\n
Third, traffic jams are also possible on certain sections of highways for various reasons, resulting in delays for cars and buses. Please be patient.<\/p>\n
Fourth, due to the state of war, a curfew is in effect in every region of Ukraine except Zakarpattia, and its duration varies by region. In Uman, the curfew is in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Please also note that during curfew hours, being outdoors is strictly prohibited, as is travel within Ukraine.<\/p>\n
